Unique Selling Proposition
Unique Selling Proposition (abbreviation: USP) or Unique Value Proposition is a term that is used for the unique and distinctive sales promise when positioning a product or service.
This unique sales promise is achieved by stressing the special and exceptional benefit of the product or service, e.g. best quality or lowest price in order to distinguish it from similar products within the market. It is the aim to encourage customers to buy the product or service and thus to increase profits.
Nowadays the importance of USP is growing as the market is flooded with a multitude of products and services and customers should see that the product or service is not replaceable.
