Pecha Kucha
The term Pecha Kucha (pronounced: peh-chak-cha) originates from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation („chit-chat“). It is a special presentation technique where pictures or charts are projected on a wall during a speech. The number of images or slides is limited to 20 and each slide is shown for 20 seconds. This results in a total presentation time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
The idea and aims of Pecha Kucha are to keep presentations as brief and concise as possible, the interest level up and to avoid the audience getting tired. In addition, presenters are forced to be more focused on their message.
Originally, the technique was used within artistic and creative areas (such as design, art, fashion and architecture). However, it is now adopted more and more in the business field and is especially used for internal business presentations.
