Online employee survey
An online employee survey is a survey of employees within an organization (e.g. to determine employee satisfaction) which is carried out online.
The survey participants fill in a questionnaire online on a server on the Internet or Intranet. Prior to this they are invited to take part in the survey by email. During the field phase they receive at least one additional email reminder. In order to prevent repeated participation each employee receives an anonymous login or access code. After completing and sending the questionnaire this code becomes invalid and cannot be used again. However, questionnaires that have not been finished or sent can be opened and revised several times. It makes sense to put the questionnaire of an online employee survey on the server of an external institute for more acceptance and data protection reasons.
Online employee surveys are useful for:
- Large, international companies (with widely spread basic population)
- Survey of a large number of employees over a short period of time
- Questionnaires with several language versions
- Majority of employees with access to the Internet
- Employees with high online affinity (e.g. IT industry)
