360° feedback

360-degree-feedback is a method which enables to identify potentials for development as well as need for the training of managers. For this reason it serves to analyse strengths and weaknesses of this group of people within the company.

By using a rating system the „feedback takers” (that is the managers from middle hierarchy levels) are assessed by senior managers, colleagues and subordinate members of staff concerning different relevant, work-related criteria of behaviour and competence.

In addition, evaluations can be made by external persons, such as customers or employees from outside companies. Often the evaluated person himself or herself also provides a self-assessment of his or her performance. In doing so the evaluation of self and outside perception through various reference groups differs considerably in many cases.

The results of the analysis of his or her person from different angles (360° - which means from all perspectives) are communicated to the “feedback taker”.

360-degree-feedback aims at identifying weak points in the cooperation, driving a person’s personal development in a differentiated way and optimising working processes.

If the evaluation of relevant, work-related criteria of behaviour and competence of a manager through various reference groups varies, measures of training and development need to be taken.
